I cannot update my series 3 watch to IOS 7.4 as there seems to be no way to get the free memory to 3gb

Looking at the resource you came from, if all else fails and you're unable to clear the space necessary to update, you'll want to unpair your Apple Watch in order to update it as outlined in the "Unpair and update your Apple Watch" section here: If you don’t have enough space to update your Apple Watch

Afterward you can restore the backup that's created during the unpair process.

I had this problem and after pairing/unpairing several times with no luck, I was able to get the update to go through. I have no idea which of the below steps I took pushed it over the edge, but below was the steps i took (basically throwing the kitchen sink at it) and it was able to update.

When unpairing and pairing (setting up as new watch), I did not not add any cards to my wallet, did not change the text size of the screen, etc. --- left everything default or 'setup later'.

Once the Watch was finished syncing & was setup, on the iPhone in the Watch app, I manually turn off every feature I could: music syncing, photo syncing, calendar syncing, all email accounts from syncing (as default, it syncs some photos and mail which takes up a little space). Once that was done, I let the watch sit for 15min for changes to take effect, then I hard rebooted the watch (Hold crown and power Button). Once it rebooted, I turn off the watch normally (holding power button and swiping) and then turned it back on. Then I tried to update it, and it finally went through.

I am having the same issue. I updated my phone and then tried to update my watch. It says there is not enough memory. It asks me to unpair after the message of not enough memory. I try to pair again and get the same message. My watch is worthless right now.
