The Grey Dot
The grey dot is driving me mad. I want to keep my magic keyboard attached, how do i minimise this stupid grey dot

You don't.
There should be an option to temporarily toggle OFF the trackpad when actually typing from the Magic Trackpad so as not to accidentally activate the trackpad cursor while laying your hands/wrists/arms on the Magic Keyboard's trackpad.
