I have had some success with this today (after installing all latest updates to Big Sur OS, Windows 10, Parallels Desktop, and Revit LT 2021). I have a few more days left to return this new laptop, but have really been hoping I can find a solution to running Revit on it. All actions on this laptop, like restarting Windows through Parallels, have been blazing fast.

I am not by any means a tech-saavy user, but here is what I’m running:

MacBook Air 13” with M1 chip (16GB memory, 1TB storage)

Big Sur OS (version 11.4)

Parallels Desktop 16 (16.5.0)

Windows 10 (“insider” evaluation copy, Build 21390)

Revit LT 2021 (build 20210426_1515(x64))

(My testing has been limited to local files up to ~20MB, including upgrading from 2019, and rendering a 3D view using the 360 cloud service)

Bugs encountered so far:

1. File>Open to access project file gives an error that I don’t have access rights to the file location. I can open files by going through File Explorer, right-click, Open.

2. Similar access rights error when trying to save project file to my Mac documents folder location…

topgunarchitect: This is hopeful! I haven't been successful with running Revit LT 2021 on M1 through Parallels 16.5 yet. Revit installed and opens, but has a fatal error whenever I open or try to create a project. I haven't isolated the issue yet. Did you use the Windows install for the ARM "insider preview", or a conventional Windows version?

I have successfully installed Revit 2022 in Parallels Desktop 16.5 on my M1 Mac mini. Not a lover of windows since its original release way beck in the 80s and have never owned a PC but needs must so here's the geeky bit of what version of windows I'm running. So you know until the current update of windows listed below it didn't work.

Windows 10 Pro

OS build 21390.1010 co_release 210521-1658

Experience Windows 10 Feature Experience Pack 321.13302.10.3

Revit now seems to work, all I need to do is try and work out how to use it.

Just saw a post on the Autodesk boards showing a screenshot of Revit, running in (purportedly Windows-on-ARM) via Parallels,.(purportedly on an M1 Mac).

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-architecture-forum/revit-for-new-apple-m1-macs/m-p/10402242#M324530

Look for Message 50, by user "akhilreddy1235kandi" and their screenshot.

We live in a Photoshop era, and they may have just been using the intel version as there's no "About This Mac" dialog to prove the M1.

Perhaps Windows-on-ARM's x64 compatibility is to the point where Revit x64 can run successfully. If so, software improvements can only improve.

I just installed and am running Revit 2021 on my Macbook Pro M1

Mac OS 11.1

Parallels 17

Windows 11 Pro build 22000.132

Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22000.132.0

I was NOT able to install Revit 2022, btw. As mentioned, you need to register for the Windows Insider program to get the ARM version of Windows. I also plan on isolating Win 11 from Mac OS, don't know how good security is on Win11 ARM...

Note: I'm a new Revit user, so I can't comment on performance vs. native windows machine, but I'll update this reply as I use it.

Make sure you partition enough HD space on Parallels. I'm using 82GB, I think you'll need at least 70 w/o Revit add-on packs.
