safari bookmarks keeps reverting to an older file

As of recently, I have had this problem across my devices on running Big Sur... safari bookmarks keep reverting to an older list and keeps taking away my current bookmarks...

I found an older bookmarks.plist file in the time machine from a month ago (which is the one that I need) and replaced it in the Library but it keep changing and reverting back to another time... 🤷🏼‍♂️

Maybe someone can help?

Thanks

Hello DMAD,

Thank you for posting on Apple Support Communities. Sounds like you are having issues with Safari bookmarks. Are you using iCloud to sync your bookmarks? Or are these locally saved to your computer?

If you are using iCloud you could try checking this support article. If your iCloud or Safari bookmarks aren’t syncing

If you are not using iCloud bookmarks it may be helpful to turn it on in order for your bookmarks to be synced across multiple devices like your iPhone, Mac, iPad, etc.

Regards.

thanks for your response.

I have tried to reinstall the bookmarks from on older TM backup... that works for a few min, then it reverts back. I keep changing the bookmarks.plist file in the safari folder in the system library which works but sooner or later it reverts to on older setup.

I could be that an older device is syncing with iCloud changing my bookmarks, but wouldn't my updated file from my more frequently used device be more current?

Thanks
