GarageBand pitch bend

Hi, I notice that there are several synth instruments I used to be able to use the pitch bend function on the built in GarageBand MIDI keyboard and now I can’t. For instance, the synth flute (keyboards—> other —> flute) allows you to change from glissando to pitch but it just doesn’t register when you play with it.

Funny thing is it works fine with other instruments and I can even go back to old recordings where I used this and it works within those recordings when I add to them, I just can’t do it with a new recording and the flute synth. Is this a bug or intentional?

I appreciate the above article. However, I should have specified that this is specifically for GarageBand on the iPhone and it is regarding bending the pitch with real time recording using the MIDI keyboard. Why did this used to work for instruments like the flute, why does it appear as an option and why doesn’t it work anymore?
