Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference to kick off June 10 at 10 a.m. PDT with Keynote address

The Keynote will be available to stream on apple.com, the Apple Developer app, the Apple TV app, and the Apple YouTube channel. On-demand playback will be available after the conclusion of the stream.

Apple Calendar free/busy option

The free/busy option is absent from my Apple calendar events. I'm using iCloud only, with zero other calendars connected. Same is true for both Mac (Catalina), and iPhone (up to date) calendars.

What's the solution? There have been several threads about this over the years, but nothing with a solution.

TIA!

Another poster had it right. The issue is with the iCal called "Calendar". No option for "Show As" is present. However, if using the calendar "Home" or "Work", or any other calendar you create, the "Show As" option IS present.

Note: the "Show As" option is also absent for any calendar that is shared!

This is clearly an issue with iCal that Apple does not want to put resources into fixing.

Hi there Tnuns,

We understand you're experiencing issues with blocking out your schedule for events, and we'd like to share some resources that can help.

Get started here: Send and receive invitations in Calendar on iPhone

Specifically, the section below may help:

"Schedule an event without blocking your schedule

You can add an event to your calendar without having the timeframe appear as busy to others who send you invitations.

  1. Tap the event, then tap Edit.
  2. Tap Show As, then tap Free."

On your Mac, you can edit this option by clicking the date and time to view the "Show as" field. Learn more here: Add, modify, or delete events in Calendar on Mac

We hope this helps.
