Battery of my iPad dies fast

when I start using my iPad, I unplug it and it shows that the battery is charge at 100%. It takes about 15 minutes and the charge drop suddenly to 3%. When I plug it back, it climbs back to 100% within 1 minute? Weir? So, the only way to use my iPad is to leave it plug in all the time. Besides buying another iPad, how can I fix this problem?
