com.apple.mdworker.shared - Service exited due to SIGKILL

In reading entries in Apple's forums, I see that this problem goes back to mid-2020 at least, and persists through many MacOS versions, including Big Sur. My console is FULL of this message (dated May 4 2021):

com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.apple.mdworker.shared.02000000-0500-0000-0000-000000000000[1292]): Service exited due to SIGKILL | sent by mds[104]

Note: The bracketed [1292] number changes in each entry.

What is going on? People have suggested Spotlight, and apparently if you turn it off, the message stops (most of the time). Time Machine has also been suggested. Along with many other diagnoses.

NOTHING WORKS to eliminate what must be a software bug. Ideas?? Solutions?? Comments??

The Console Application used to be useful starting point to trouble shot, way back in Snow Leopard days. Since then to now, it seems to have devolved to and designed for Apple Software Engineers only. They are really about the only person who can understand the very cryptic messages that appear there.

Personally - would not spend too much time in Console at all, except to look at Spin Reports or maybe Crash Reports. Beyond that, one could spend all their time there and never making any real progress.
