Hi mysapphirestar,

It sounds like you can't see the AirPlay icon on your Mac in your Menu Bar. We're glad you've joined us in Apple Support Communities. Let's see if this helps.

In Apple Menu > System Preferences > Dock & Menu Bar > Display is "Show in Menu Bar" checked? If so, is it set to "always" or "when active?" If you'd like for the AirPlay icon to always be in the Menu Bar, then set it to "always." There's more information in Change Dock & Menu Bar preferences on Mac.

If the issue remains, and you can't use AirPlay at all follow the steps in If AirPlay or screen mirroring isn’t working on your device. This will walk you through what to do if AirPlay isn't working on your Mac.

We hope that helps with your question and take care!
