HP printer suddenly stopped working for Apple devices

The HP 8600 suddenly stopped working for two different Apple devices, the printer is visible and can be selected but eventually comes up as offline, which it is not, all android and windows products still printing ok, is there an update that has caused this, anyone else having problems?
