When I installed Mozilla VPN and turn it on, I can receive emails in Outlook but cannot send them. I get a server time out error when trying to send anything. When VPN is turned off, there is no problem. Any thoughts on what could be hampering the sending of emails, but not their receipt? 27" iMac running Mojave with Outlook for Mac 2011.

Stop using the VPN. Why do you need it?
A public VPN adds no security. And all your traffic is routed through the VPN server then dumped onto the open Internet just as though you had never used the VPN. A VPN that provides a point-to-point tunnel to a private network like a company or school network does provide security.
I may well do that. Thought I would try the VPN for added security, but not if I lose functionality. Thanks for answering.
