Same here, my iPad Pro 2020 11inch FaceTime was doing well until I upgraded the iOS to 14.5.1
Now, I can’t even do any FaceTime call, please help fix this bug.
thank you
Getting quite frustrated at the lack of attention this issue has been receiving from Apple. It’s been almost 3 months since I first brought it to their attention and still no fix.
How did you contact Apple, exactly?
These are just Apple product user to user technical support communities.
No cognizant or responsible Apple teams or employees read nor participate in these user help communities.
You need to search online for your nearest, “local” Apple store location and call to make an appointment to have your Apple iPad diagnosed and options presented you.
Failing that,
You need to contact Apple support via the contact support link located at the upper right hand corner of every Webpage of these Apple support communities.
Use the Hardware Repair & Device connectivity support categories.
OR
by installing and using the Apple Support app found in the iOS App Store.

Good Luck to You!
Thanks for that advice. I contacted Apple Support back in April regarding this issue. I have had no less than 10 specialists assigned to me and keep getting passed from one to the next. I’ve downloaded logs, page shots, updates and a myriad of other procedures and the ”engineers” have been on it for more than a month without a solution….so what else can I do? I’ll tell you all I can do…just sit and wait for the next call back asking for even more information, logs, page shots…etc. and grow ever more frustrated by their inability to solve an issue of their very own creation…
I have been in contact with Apple and they are looking into the oroblem
I spent some time, and they installed a log program to try to figure out the issue. Couple more calls, and then the senior advisor was reassigned to a "training" and I am supposed to pick a new advisor. But seems like plenty of people have raised the issue, so not sure why they need more data.
We contact vs phone you don’t Necessarily need to go Apple store because some not available in certain locations. Everyone is waiting from contacting Apple for the problem to be fix and Apple support do respond in these discussions they will tell u they do. If a lot people is contacting them about the same problem then it’s time for them to do something have bless day
Got my iPad Pro M1 and I have the same annoying issue. Add me in the list.
well, downloaded iPadOS 14.7 and that didn’t fix it…
Updated also..same issue...It start to work again for a while if you disable FaceTime, restart, re-enable. But after a while issue is back.
I have an old iPad Air 2 with 14.7...no issue with that.
14.7 does not solve this
Same here, they want more logs, screenshots etc. Now they think it’s my id that’s causing it. 😳
I've been working through the same FaceTime issue with Apple Support on my mother in law's 8th Gen iPad. I have downloaded profiles, reproduced the problem and sent logs to Apple. I doubt it is anything to do with your Apple ID, when FaceTime calls are failing to her 8th Gen iPad I can still call her on her iMac and the 6th Gen iPad (that we lent to her). I've done all the things that Apple requested; recovery reinstalls, fresh installation with no recovery, tried the iPad on different networks, etc... problem persists. There is most likely a software bug here that seems to impact only certain Apple silicon (A12 and maybe now M1iPads). BTW, her 8th Gen iPad was working fine for 6 months until she upgraded to 14.5 in June, after that this problem has persisted (including an upgrade to 14.6).
My daughter has an iPad 8th generation and it seems there are no issues (iOS 14.6). On my M1 I have tried a different Apple ID and the problem is still there.
So no idea what it is causing it.
I’m now getting fed up with it all, and if 14.7 upgrade doesn’t solve it what hope have we?
Same here
