Welcome.

(i dont know if this is important but i spilled water on it earlier today)

When I worked in law enforcement, we called that a "clue."

As long it was plain water, not carbonated or with added sweeteners, you can try letting the keyboard dry.

For advice beyond that, you can help us help you by revealing the model number of the board on the bottom or back of the case. The model likely starts with "A." Example: A1242. If it is not an Apple-branded board, we need the make as well as the model number.

The board type is important because some can be opened for cleaning and others cannot.

That model is glued together and requires serious heating to break the glue seal. I cannot recommend that action. A search of "clean Apple A1644 keyboard" shows some hits but most are for very dicey procedures that could make things worse. Like the one that has you put the board in the dishwasher.

If it was only plain water, let it dry and test again.

Otherwise, consider a shopping trip. There are plenty of keyboards out there that are fully Mac-compatible, work as well or better then the A1644, and are far cheaper. I like Matias boards but there are others that are quality products.
