Air Drop apps

I often Airdrop to send audiobooks to my iPhone from my Mac. When you transfer the book files the menu on the phone pops up and I select my audiobook player (Bound) and the books are magically go there there. By not using Applebooks app I can not fill up my MacBook Pro. When I first started attempted to do this, my Bound wasn't in the selection. Then after a few reboots it was there and its been there every time.

Now, I want to send a file to a different app. Problem is that it isn't in the list and I don't know how to force it there. I have a full screen of available apps but not the one I want. Since folk on the web have used this app as a receiver of Air Drop files do I know it could be done....but can't figure out how to make it show as a choice.

Hope this makes sense.....

Hello borgheart,

We understand that you're attempting to AirDrop files directly into an app on your Mac. First, we'd recommend ensuring that your Mac and apps are up to date:

Once you check those, let us know if updates were available and, if so, if there's any change.

Thanks!

Thanks Melissa but you misunderstood my question. I am trying to drop files from my MacBook Pro (totally updated) to an iPhone X (totally updated). I can do this with no problem. The problem is that when you drop the files to the iPhone it shows an app menu so you can direct the air dropped files to that app on the phone. Problem is that it doesn't show the app I want to drop them into even though others on the web have said they are doing it. It's possible that things have changed since others tried it but I wanted to ask, if in general, there is a way to control the apps on the iPhone menu that pops up during airdrop. Hope that explains it a bit more....thanks.
