The Messages app cannot be deleted on your iPhone. You may have removed it from home screen however it still exists in the APP LIBRARY, which is the last screen on the iPhone when you continue to SWIPE LEFT until you reach it. You can then find the Messages app and TOUCH, HOLD & DRAG the app out of the App Library and on to your favorite home screen.

If you are unsuccessful with the above attempt then Open Settings ➔ General ➔ Reset ➔ Reset Home Screen Layout. This action will reset the apps on your Home Screen and return the Messages app icon to its default location on the home screen.
