Disk partition

Few years ago, I tried installing Windows 10 on my iMac, but in the middle of the process, I decided not to. The problem was that I already partitioned my disc for Windows. Now I have 1st disc that is primarily and the second one is containing Mac software and all data (1st is empty). The problem is that now I can't merge those discs in one since I can't erase neither one of the discs. Thanks for support.

Cant merge partition back onto macintosh hd I partitioned my macbook pro to download windows 10. I deleted windows 10 from the partition but it wont let me put it back on the macintosh hd partition. I have tried so many things but the minus sign is greyed out to merge the partitions. It is taking up a lot of space so I really want it back. What do I do?

MacBook Pro 16" Catalina - Single or Multiple Partitions? I'm in the process of migrating away from the Windows environment over to a Mac so kindly forgive my ignorance in these matters. My current Windows laptop has a single disc partitioned (from delivery/new) as C, D and E the latter being the recovery partition. My applications/programmes are on partition C whilst my personal data files etc are on partition D. However, I am unable to discover the disc arrangement on the MacBook Pro 16" in it's delivery state. I have opted for the 2TB model as all of my photos are located on an EHD so a 2TB capacity will be sufficient for my needs although 2TB as a single partition is obviously not desirable. Can anyone having purchased the new MacBook Pro 16" recently possible advise as to this question. Thanks.
