Can't be done, it cannot be removed.

It's amazing that they continue to force users to have this stupid and pointless addition to their screen without the option to turn it off. I hate the clutter too and it's a frustratingly simple thing for them to fix, so it must be a stubborn insistence that Apple's developers know what users better than they do. I can only advise you to take the message and never buy another Apple product again. They're not very good anyway, the company limits utility and treats users as a commodity, so it won't be a serious loss.
Apple doesn't read here for suggestions or feedback. You can let them know your thoughts here:
I have certainly given Apple lots of feedback, including how much I like the App Library and what I think can be done to improve it.

Where did you get your statistics that "a very large percentage of uses don't like it". I'd be very interested in seeing your sources.

Good for you. Hopefully they start to listen to users and give those of us who hate it with a passion and think it's stupid and a waste of time the opportunity to turn it off, which was how it used to be before they decided to ignore our preferences and impose it on us. There are two issues here, a tool that you can take or leave, and an attitude towards users that is prescriptive, hostile and insulting. Apple have got the second part of this badly wrong and need to step off and learn some manners.

Did you send feedback?
Only way to do it is to ditch your iPhone and buy another brand. The App Library is utterly pointless and a very large percentage of users don't like it but, apparently, Apple really doesn't care.
