may I change the name of the my HD (Macintosh HDD)

To solve big trouble with macOS Big Sur, 11.3.1, I have to delete and install a new OS.

Apple dealer advise me to install preferably macOS Catalina.

After the installation my HD got a generic name Macintosh HDD, may I change it with create new trouble. My bad experiences of installing Big Sure made me very suspicious with all kind of modification after installation...

Hi cldjr,

Sure, you can rename your Mac's internal hard disk just like you would any file or folder on your Mac.

Things you don't want to rename are system files and folders, but renaming Macintosh HD to something else is fine.
