2021 sudden recording delay

Setting the Preferences/Audio I/O Buffer to 128 or 64. The lower the number the more your CPU has to work to fill the buffer, however the delay will be shorter. Also, (Same Preferences/Audio) sometimes disabling Core Audio then apply, then re-enabling core audio/apply helps.

Possibly a corrupt project? Same delay if you create a new project?

MacBook Pro with M1 Chip has excellent performance and it should be the best powerful, super-charged running MacBook ever.

MacBook Pro with M1 Chip shouldn't have performance issues, I don't know why it has that issue.

Two things to try.

In Logic's Preferences/Audio there is a Recording Delay slider, it should be set to the center 0 <zero> position.

Are you using a different or new plugin on the project with delay? Some plugins use look-ahead technology and cause slight delays. Engage Logic's Low Latency Mode. (Only while recording, do NOT engage on playback.)
