Holding the new iPhone 12 Pro Max to a windshield

I've purchased a new iPhone 12 Max Pro and an Iottie brand holder (iTap Magnetic 2) for use in a car. Perhaps, I made a mistake or not but the one I bought has a suction cup for windshield mounting and 2 magnets to attach to the iPhone 12 and one for the case. Those magnets then grip onto the magnet on the holder itself.

Does use of such a magnetized device do anything to degrade the iPhone and/or its battery in any way?

Is it better to use some other kind of mount?

Thank you.

It might be helpful to less experienced users of Apple products to have some sense of what experienced users have learned over the years - it's called wisdom and sharing with others.

You've certainly, as a volunteer technical advisor gratefully serving the public, formed an opinion or had an observation about unforeseeable circumstances that may happen to Apple products. Has Apple, in the past, not warned against using some accessory with their products because they didn't have any experience in what that accessory could do? That's one example.

So, if there's a possibility of a magnetized holder damaging an Apple battery or other metallic ingredient and Apple does not know that might happen, perhaps, they would not issue a warning against using such a magnetic holder. Perhaps, not. We who are new to Apple would not have that history to know either way.

I don't understand, truly, how you believe your perspective is irrelevant. If that were true, you would not be a high level volunteer advisor. I say that with respect and gratitutde for what you do. This is not a court of law, which is where I made my career. This is a technical forum where perspectives, assumptions and experiences are all that truly matter.

Thank you for what you do.
