Are you connecting to an outdoors Wi-Fi hotspot mast? Has the Internet service provider installed some kind of indoors receiver/connection box, or is the wireless signal directly received from the Wi-Fi mast by your computer? Do you have a separate travelling router (or something similar) picking up the signal from the Wi-Fi hotspot and then creating a local/private Wi-Fi network?

A printer and a computer would both normally connect to the same private network/router (using a password required by that router).

In the MX470 series, do you have one of the models MX471, 472, 474, 475, 476, 477, or 478?
