My phone carrier

Hey so last year I bought an IPhone 8 from Walmart.com, earlier this year I got service for my phone. When I bought the phone it said it was unlocked. When I put my SIM card in it was locked. My carrier can’t unlock it, Walmart can’t unlock, and my local phone shop is trying to find the original carrier to unlock it but we can’t find it cuz it was supposed to be unlocked. I was wondering if u could find the original carrier for me.

iPhone 8, iOS 14

Walmart does not sell unlocked iPhones. The phones they sell will lock to the first carrier used. Only the carrier it is locked to can unlock it.

If the carrier you activated it on can't or won't unlock it, then it can not be unlocked.

The "original carrier" is the carrier you used to activate it.
