What does ‘Sound When Using Siri’ do?

I noticed a HomePod setting in the Home app called ‘Sound When Using Siri’. I asked Siri some questions (what time is it etc) both with it on and off, but there was no difference. I tried it both with music playing and without.


Anyone know what it’s for?

If you have Sound When Using Siri turned on and you press the top of the HomePod to invoke Siri then a sound is played.
