Accidentally mute iPhone 12 Pro

Hello I have an issue where I accidentally mute my phone while on calls. My cheek must be hitting the mute button. This does not happen ever time but occurs regularly. I also have an issue where when I run sometimes my music will get paused in my pocket because my screen does not shut off. I am guessing there might be an issue with the proximity sensor. I am checking if anyone else has had this issue.

During a call put a finger over the sensor in the notch or hold the phone earpiece close to your ear.

If screen doesn't go off then suspect the sensor. If it does go off then make sure the phone is held with the earpiece closer to your face than the microphone.

Turning on in your pocket I don't think is related - it may be a false positive in the Raise to wake facility. Try turning it off in Settings, Display and brightness
