Microsoft 365 subscription upgrade from apple store

I purchased a 365 personal subscription through the apple app store. When I try to upgrade to 365 family on the app store, I can't. When I check the forums, they say talk to Microsoft. When I try to upgrade with Microsoft, using my Microsoft account with the subscription, I follow their instructions and then it won't upgrade me because I have a subscription with Apple. No one seems to be able to answer the question?

Please help!!
