MacBook Pro: Airdrop shows the same name/picture for all devices
My wife has a 2016 MacBook Pro running Big Sur 11.3.1 and when we use Airdrop to send something to either my iPhone or iPad, or her iPhone or iPad, the 4 devices all show up with her contact name and picture. We share the same Apple ID (mine), but the Mac Admin is registered under her name. Please DO NOT try and tell me it is an Apple ID sharing issue, as this DOES NOT happen when we do Airdrop from any one of our other 4 iOS devices. They seem to be able to recognise the correct names for each item just fine. The first pic is from the Apple ID section of System Preferences on the Mac. It correctly identifies the names of all of our devices - so the Mac does seem to know which is which.
The second pic is from the System Preferences>Users and Groups section of the Mac - showing the name and picture that the Mac is registered as. We only have the one profile which we both use. This name, by the way, DOES NOT include my wife's middle initial. (We actually tried to change this by saving a new Contact card, to no avail - see #1 below)
Next pic is a combo of windows - the first is my wife's card in the Contacts App (on the Mac), which shows a different picture than the Admin photo above, PLUS it includes her middle initial.
Then there is the Airdrop window that shows all 4 of our other devices, ALL of which have my wife's name on them (MINUS her middle initial, like the Admin name) BUT shows the picture from her Contacts app info and NOT the green leaf photo from the Admin profile pic above. (???) Confused?? ME TOO!
So what I would like to know is:
#1) Why doesn't her Admin profile name and pic match her Contact Card info, when we SPECIFICALLY chose that contact card as her profile info?? (by going to System Preferences>Users &Groups>ContactsCard:Open>selected her contact info>up at the Contacts toolbar selected Card>Make this my card)
#2) Why oh Why is Airdrop showing a mix of her Admin info (name Minus middle initial) and Contact info (pic) for every single one of our iOS devices?? Again, this DOES NOT happen when we are doing Airdrop on any of our 4 iOS devices.
We use Airdrop often and it's a pain to try to guess which device is which. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
