My phone gets really, really hot when I am on it for 10 mins or more. It is also beginning to freeze. Do I need a new battery or is it on the way out? It is a 7 plus

First, visit this page to learn more about why your iPhone could get warm.
If your battery life is above 80%, battery is certainly not the problem.
If it occurs every time you’re on your iPhone for about 10 min, and if you don’t open big apps, your iPhone is maybe defective, contact apple support.

Use the Get Support link at the top of the page here to contact Apple Support. They can do a remote diagnostic of your battery. If you have iOS 14 on your device as you indicate in your profile, if you were to go to Settings>Battery>Battery Health. If it is 80% or lower, you need a new battery.
