how I can find the time machine folder and do my backup in a external memory?

Time Machine is designed to use an external drive that is 2.5 - 3x the size of. your internal drive, and formatted as either HFS+ journaled (case-insensitive), or for Big Sur, APFS Journaled (case-insensitive). You configure System Preferences > Time Machine to use that drive for backups. There is no Time Machine folder on your startup drive for the previous reasons.
