icloud.com wants me to reset my password

Hi.

When I attempt to sign in to iCloud.com on my PC, it asked me my security questions, which I answered correctly, then the code for my billing credit card, then said I needed to update my password.

All this when I declined 2-factor authentication.

So I turned 2FA on using my iPhone.

It spat out codes to sign in to iCloud.com on a PC when I went to log in but still took me to the "Change your password" screen. My password fits the criteria and have used it for years.

Things I have tried:

  • I have signed in and out of iCloud on my phone.
  • I can sign in to iCloud.com on my phone's Safari Browser app.
  • I have signed into my son's account on a PC just fine.

My OLD not updated Mac will not even launch iCloud.com but connects to other sites.

Y'all.

Called Apple Support. They've never seen it before.

Fear, if I mindlessly change my password, would it indeed solve this? So, I've not yet done so.

Waiting on a call back from "the engineers" but you guys always seem to know.

Thanks!
