Unless the "iMac" is actually an Apple display (Cinema LED or Thunderbolt LED) where there is no power button on back....

Using your least hand reach around the bottom left to feel the small indent at the back, push that to turn on the Mac.
Very true. I tend to think if someone says "iMac", they mean "iMac". It would not be a stretch to think there are some users out there that would not know. I have two Thunderbolt displays attached to my iMac and yes, I can see some people not knowing where the power button is. :)
Yes there is. There is no suck thing as an iMac with no power button.
Cheers,
Jack
While you're facing your iMac, you can feel for an indented button behind the iMac on the lower-left. It's there.

A big +1 to that. In another post here in the last month with the same issue, the device turned out to be a display, not an iMac. Good call.
Unfortunately that is no power button on the back
I will get a pic tower and connect and see
Sorry, you will get a what?
This is the back of a new iMac with the power button circled in red (much like the previous pic)
LOL, its there you just are not looking closely.
Make a lot sense, I will get a pic tower and connect and see. Thanks
