The iMac will no longer accept the characters A, S, D and F. As one of these characters make up my password, I can not log on. I have restarted the machine a couple of times, but nothing changes. Grateful for advice
Try another keyboard (doesn't have to be from Apple)
Wired or unwired keyboard, please be VERY specific. Apple has made many keyboards over the y ears so we need to know what you have.
Please try resetting the SMC 2-3 times back to back with all wire peripherals disconnected including printers, scanners, EHDs etc..

The keyboard was the problem and had to be replaced
Thank you. It is a small Bluetooth keyboard. I have reset the SMC once, I will try it a couple more times. The whole middle row of characters is affected.
