The Siri's Talk Is Cut Off

Hi,

I am using iPhone SE, and whenever I ask something to Siri, his talk is cut off or does not talk back at all. So I turned on, "Hey Siri." Also, I turned on Siri Responses as "Always." Just in case, I reset the Siri setup, so Siri can hear me better (?).

The problems are like,

"Hey Siri, what's the weather like?"

"The wea..."

"Hey Siri, what is 08*58?"

"The answer I..."

It's cut off like this. I tried other questions, and the results are the same. Sometimes, it does not respond to me at all and/or it can hear me. I don't know what the problem is.

  • iOS 14.5.1 (up to date)
  • I also turn on/off my phone, but it didn't work.
  • Other devices such as the iPad or Watch work well.

Don’t bother asking Apple support for help. The rep said “I’ve never heard of this problem” 🤦🏻‍♀️

A quick internet search shows this is a common bug that seems to be in iOS 14.5.1. All we can do is wait for the next update I guess. :(

Same issue. I chatted with Apple support earlier and they advised me to backup and restore my iPhone from my Mac. If you have a Mac, your iPhone will show up in Finder. If you have a PC use iTunes. You have to restore your iPhone from your computer, not just using 'Erase all content and settings' in Settings. Restoring downloads a fresh copy of iOS and reinstalls it. I did this earlier and my issue with Siri is fixed, also I was having some general performance issues which seem to have also gone with the restore. This seems like a bit of a 'sledge hammer' approach for something that broke with a patch but it gets the job done.
