How do I make my HomePod mini a hub
I just got my HomePod mini and I don’t understand how to make it a hub. I want to control specific smart devices while I’m away from home but I don’t understand how to make it a hub.

If you crop the image it might work.
Try signing out of iCloud in the Home App and sign back in and see if that helps. In the HomePod settings scroll down to music and podcasts - primary user
Is it still not working reset HomePod and set it up again
Then try resetting it and this will remove your account.
Reboot your wifi, then set it up again. It needs to be using the same home wifi as your iOS device (that you are using to set it up with) Bluetooth needs to be enabled on this device. Needs to be using the same primary Apple ID you use.
before proceeding update the software on your iOS device, after setting up the Homepod, update the software on that as well Did you ever update the software on Homepod yet? This needs to be done right away as it does not ship with the very latest.
If you’re still having issues you can contact Apple at Get Support or call 1-800-MY-APPLE and allow them to do a screen share so they can get a live view of your home app
I’m not sure why it’s doing that. Try closing the Home App, restart your device then try again
There’s a few ways you can try adding Automations;
It might just be showing you this if it’s your first time using it, but there should be a + top right of screen
You can also try in the Home Tab- click or tap + to bring up this drop down menu - Add Automation
Do not post your APPLE ID on here.
In the HomePod settings. Long press on HomePod icon, tap the gear icon, scroll down to music and podcasts - primary user
like this right under Primary user - you will see sign out
An important instruction in the link that TT2 posted is "Turn on iCloud Keychain and two-factor authentication for your Apple ID"
Siri is performing all task flawlessly It’s still not hooked up as a home hub when I try to add an automation it gives me this.
OK so every time I try to remove this account which is my account. This message keeps popping up I have great Internet by the way and I’m about to just give up soon but….. yeah
I followed everything and turned on everything just like it said.
I forgot to add that I’m at square one.
If you’ve set it up correctly it will work as a Hub. Try asking Siri to perform a task
I tried to take a screenshot to show you that I don’t have that option for Adding an automation But it’s 9.4 MB.
I saw that and I did that it still didn’t work.
