Apple Watch WiFi auto connection

I am facing a really annoying problem with my watch, it does not connect to WiFi automatically when iPhone is out of range.

Connects well to a saved WiFi but only if I select it.

Just to clarify: it connects if I select manually.

But not if like I arrive home and walk away from my iPhone.

I have restarted everything.

Just tried and it worked without a glitch here too. S6 GPS only. You may want to unpair and re-pair if the issue persists,

to get back to factory level and settings.

Just tested with my S5 and works fine. I turned off Wi-fi on my phone and the watch stayed connected. I then rebooted the router and my watch lost connection and then reconnected.

Ok I know this isn’t really helpful but it might go to say it’s not a generic problem.

you’ve obviously done everything like set the Wi-fi to auto connection on your watch etc ?
