Keynote keeps crashing when trying to export to PDF. I have an old project that exports no problem and is a way bigger project than the one I’m currently working on. But this one is the only one that crashes. Both have links which is why I have to export to PDF not go to print and save as PDF.
Try this for a project that does not have many slides;
duplicate the Keynote file
in the duplicate file, delete the first slide, then export and test
repeat until you find the offending slide, replace the slide and its content
When re-installing keynote, try this procedure to remove all Keynote application supporting files:
complete all of the following steps in the order listed:
Your Mac user account may be corrupt.
First, create a new Mac user account and test Keynote.

If Keynote works correctly in the new account:
Once this is done you can delete the problem account when you are sure everything is transferred
I had that problem last night as well. Started manually saving after each text field entry. quit Keynote and restarted, no more problems. Been working all day without a crash today... weird.
Have you tried printing to a PDF via the File/Print/Save as PDF menu? This behaves differently to the File/Export function and might work.

I do have a lot of slides. My old project has around 1000 and my new only has about 60 so far. I have actually started a completely new presentation and started over for the new one but it still crashes. It truly makes no sense to me that my older project which is way larger can export to PDF, but this new one no matter what I try always seems to crash after getting to a certain length or slides or links.

I have tried this method before as well, but it still crashes. Very weird.
I’ve tried creating a new user before, but that didn’t solve the problem. I’ve also restarted my MacBook, deleted the keynote app and re downloaded it but that hasn’t helped either.
