Limited Warranty

I recently bought an iPhone 12 pro. I did not buy apple care + with it.

But if i go to settings > general > about, I see an option called “limited warranty”

When I go there it says I have 1 year warranty, is it normal?

The iphone came as a gift and the person who bought it doesnt know if they bought is with warranty or not.

Next, I want to know that if it is real, then where do i go to claim the warranty is something happens to the phone? Do I go to the retailer whom I bought the phone from? Or going directly to apple service center?

help much appreciated

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 14

That's the standard warranty; it doesn't cover loss, theft, or accidental damage. To use it, go to an Apple Store or authorized service provider, or phone Apple Support.
