Can’t install beta on my iPhone 12 Pro Max

Last week I bought a second hand 12 pro max. And everything is fine. The phone is like brand new. Installed all my apps without problems. Then a few days ago I wanted to enroll my device in to the beta program. So I installed the public profile. But now searching for updates always fails. I waited a few days but the problem remains. What could be the problem?
