Why I am not able to update on cellular data or hotspot ? It is highly irritating

iOS/iPadOS updates cannot be performed over a Cellular connection. The update process requires either WiFi connection - or the use of a PC (with iTunes installed) or a Mac (with iTunes or Finder - as appropriate for the installed version of macOS) and an active internet connection to perform the system update.

Update over Cellular is not possible as the system update may include a Carrier Settings update - this being a critical element of the system update. The Carrier Settings are critical to Cellular connectivity; you cannot update this system resource whilst it is “in-use”.

Hi, first of all you should update to the latest ios 14.5. Downloading over data network is not supported for older phones. However, iphone 12 is supported but only over 5g. Wifi hotspot from another phone that you use as wifi to connect to your device should work.

I'm facing the same issue related to that but not in iPad but in my iPhone I can't enable hotspot thru my data it says contact your carrier. While i put the same SIM on the other Iphone it's working fine. It's all happened after I installed ios14.5.1.
