Lost all written data on Apple notes using apple pencil

I had written notes on Notes app on ipad. The page of notes was older one. I had taken notes on that page using apple pencil. When I check the note again today I have lost all the latest content i had added. Only the older content which was synced on icloud is there.

Can you please help me with this?

Sorry, but there is nothing to be done.

Something glitched.

If you lost any recent written notes in the Notes app and they were nit saved to iCloud, then something happened and those additonal written notes are gone.

Sorry.

After 12 years of using iOS, I find Apple’s free default iOS Notes app to be unreliable, unstable and, generally, untrustworthy of saving notes long-term within an iOS device, as well as thin on features.

While easy and straightforward to use, Apple ONLY ever updates their free Notes app once a year with a major iOS release and I find it only minimally useful as it only has a minimal amount of features, with no real organisation of notes.

Everyone that uses the free Apple Notes app would be better off just paying for any of the popular Notes apps that are a whole lot more stable and trustworthy and get updated on a constant and regular basis.

The free Apple Notes app has always been problematic and one of its big issues is losing notes and edits.

The third party notes apps I use have been very trouble free, for me, for many years and have never lost a note or any edits of notes and can be backed up to other data storage/backup services other than just iCloud, which is data “syncing” service and not really a data backup service.

Apple's free, default, iOS Notes app a a basic notes apps that Apple includes, more or less, as a example “showcase” app of what could be done when designing/coding a more fully featured note-taking app.

Apple's free Notes app is NOT a full featured notes app and has many useful features not available to it.

Apple has always treated their iOS Notes app in a way where the app is like only approx. 80% “there”.

To make the free iOS Notes app a relatively basic, simple notes app that anyone can, more or less, learn fairly easily, Apple's Notes has eschewed many useful features found in other more powerful and robust/feature-rich, third party note taking apps.

Also, to also emphasize how basic the free iOS Notes app is, Apple ONLY upgrades/updates this app once a year with a new iOS/iPadOS version introduction every September/October.

If you need more features from a notes/note taking app, I recommend you look to the Apple iOS App Store for more fully featured, third party apps that get many regular updates throughout the years!

Here is an incomplete list of notes/note taking apps you may wish/want to look at that are more robust and feature- rich, in no particular order.
