I have unpaired my series 3 watch as a new watch and it still won’t update

I have unpaired my series 3 watch as a new watch and it still won’t download the latest upgrade prompting me again to unpair as new watch. How do I get it to download the latest update?

Try to run the update from the watch itself:

Place the watch on the charger.
Make sure that your watch is connected to Wi-Fi.
On your watch, open the Settings app.
Tap General > Software Update.
Tap Install if a software update is available, then follow the onscreen instructions.
