Apple Watch 6 Won't charge or reset

I'm hoping someone has an answer. Upgraded to a Series 6 watch on March 29th. About 3 weeks later it was dead on the charger. Now when I put it on the charger I get the green lightning bolt and it gets very hot to the touch and then stops charging. I've tried to turn off and hard reset with no response. I've tried different cords, outlets, adapters, and USB ports. Just gets hot and stops charging. Apple support has been zero help. Anyone heard of this issue with series 6? Any ideas?
