wallpaper keeps changing by itself

My wallpaper will suddenly change by itself. This happens frequently. Then, when I go back into system preferences, my previous wallpapers are not there.

  1. How do I stop this from happening?
  2. How do I make sure that my wallpapers are staying in system preferences?

I am currently using Catalina.

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.15

Hello Milo2010,

It sounds like you desktop wallpaper is not keeping your selection in System Preferences.

You can try some isolation and troubleshooting steps. Here are some resources that can help:

  • Test with another photo in a different location. For example, if the photo you are using is located in your Photo's library, try to use one saved on your desktop. Export photos, videos, and slideshows from Photos on Mac.
    • You can also test with a different default photo and see if it continues.

  • Try to Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac and test again as it can help with some settings found in System Preferences "If you experience issues related to these settings or others, resetting NVRAM might help.

Hope this information helps.

Have a good day.
