Snapchat not received

I continuously receive ( like every other day) a notification That a certain user has sent me a snap ( it’s always the same user) but when I go into Snapchat there is no msg- the username is also not in my friend list , I search the name and can’t find them in any search and they’re not in my block list! But they definitely must exist as their name and avatar pop up on the notification!!???????
