YouTube drops in the middle of movie to 360p

Hi,

I'm using Mac Big Sur 11.3.1.

Sometimes YouTube got stucks in the middle of movie for a second and drops from 1080p to 360p. I need to choose manually 1080p in the quality button.

I have a high speed internet, so it's not the problem.

It doesn't happen on the app on iOS.

Why it happen?

Thanks,

Michael

Go step by step and test.

1. Update Safari, if an update is available. Update may come with bug fixes.

2. Quit Safari, launch Safari holding the Shift key down.

3. Startup in Safe Mode. https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/start-up-your-mac-in-safe-mode-mh21245/mac.

And it deletes some system caches, including font caches and

the kernel cache, which are automatically created again as needed.

4. Clear History

Hi,

I tried the options that you suggested and it doesn't help.

Whenever that happens, it goes to a dark screen of video for a second and than go to 360p.

If I choose manually 1080p in the start movie, the dark screen also appear for a second and then goes to 1080p.

I see that there is a lot buffer when it happen and even though stuck to dark in the middle of movie.

Thanks,

Michael
