Has he added the number to his Apple ID? He needs to change/add the number on his Apple ID. After the change, allow up to 24 hours for the change to sync. Before trying to make the change, sign out of Messages/FaceTime on all devices/computers.
Hi,
Are you able to send text messages? If so what colour are bubbles around the messages?
if not, please go to settings > find phone> make sure your number shows correctly, then go to settings >iMessage and toggle it on
Looks like everything is connected. The 24 hours will be up in about an hr and a half. I guess we’ll wait and see, I think this might be an at&t issue. Not sure.
this is for my bfs phone, I thought it might be a quick fix, when we go to iMessage the number is there but it can’t be selected.
This sometimes means the number has not ported or transferred over fully or has not activated
Try taking sim out> turn off iPhone> place sim back in and turn on iPhone
Okay we did that. And I looks like the old phone is fully inactivate but still not able to receive text/iMessage.
