When I search for something in the Finder I get everything but what I'm looking for. Example: Pages gets me rows and rows of Word along with many other things. I'm missing something and would appreciate your expertise to solve this.

Thanks

Mac mini, macOS 10.15

Give the Finder's narrow your search results on Mac a read. Finder uses Spotlight results to find things, and if you have Spotlight search results to locate Documents, you can focus on Pages documents created after the first of the year as:

kind:pages created:>01/01/2021

The pages document(s) that have the case-insensitive expression "stranger things" in them:

kind:pages "stranger things"

or all Pages documents:

name:.pages

As you are on Catalina, Pages v11.0 on the Mac App Store will either show you an Open button meaning that it is up to date, or an Update button indicating that you are not up to date. You need to be signed into the Mac App Store with the same Apple ID that you used to previously install Pages. If this is true and you still are not successful, I suggest rebooting your Mac, wait 10 minutes, and try the Mac App Store again.
