Assigning location not working

Hello Apple Community.

I've got some old photos which are not geo referenced. I know that I can assign a location to the photo or selection of photos under the photo information but for some reason this is not working. When I type a location in it initially comes up and then it disappears and nothing happens. Any one else have this issue?

macOS Big Sur 11.3 (20E232)

Photos Version 6.0 (340.0.221)

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.3

Are you connected to the internet when trying to assign locations? Photos needs to look up the locations on Apple's servers.

Are you using iCloud Photos? If yes, it may take a few moments for the location to sync with iCloud.
