When using the magic keyboard, if I use the return button it sends a message rather than starting a new paragraph. Can I change this?

We understand that when in Messages and using your Magic Keyboard, when using the "Return" key, the message sends, rather than starting a new paragraph. This is how it is expected to behave in Messages. The Return key will send the message. If you want to instead insert a new paragraph, you will need to press "Option + Return".

When I hit the return button in messages and messenger, it sends the message instead of creating a new paragraph. Can I change this so it doesn’t occur?
