How to remove activation lock on apple watch?

The Activation Lock is connected to the Apple ID of this watch's original owner. That is the only person who can remove the Lock.

Remove  Watch Activation Lock -

Go to icloud.com and login

Open Find iPhone.

In the All Devices pulldown menu select the Watch.

In the resulting sheet that appears to the right choose erase Apple Watch. Select Next until the device is erased.

Then Remove the watch from the Apple ID.

1. Is the Apple Watch in an activation locked state, or do you just want to disable it?
2. If it is in an activation locked state, do you own the Apple Watch or are in contact with the owner?
