I just realized that my phone doesn't get the earphone's audio input while it is plugged in and connected to my phone, instead, it records audio from its built-in microphone while recording a video. How can I set my phone to use my earphone's rather than its own microphone? Thank you!

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities. We understand that you are wanting to record audio through your connected earphones but instead your iPhone records it through the built in microphone. We would love to provide support on this.
When recording audio/video on your iPhone X your device is built to use the built in microphone for high quality recording and delivery. Recording audio/video through connected headphones is not currently an option.
